Equestrian Spraying and Paddock Maintenance
Greensward has a long equestrian history and direct contact and experience of equines assists in the service given. All aspects of paddock maintenance are covered using appropriately sized machinery throughout Grampian, Moray and the Highlands of Scotland. Early season harrowing, rolling and fertilising are carried out often followed closely by re-seeding.
Greensward is able to either re-seed whole paddocks or repair smaller areas eg: around gateways, and patches of poor grass growth. On occasions the density of grassland can become reduced - Greensward can re-seed into the existing sward so causing huge improvement at low cost and minimal inconvenience to both horse and customer.
Where customers have limited area when carrying out field maintenance, Greensward can for example treat weeds including ragwort, docks, thistle and nettles in two stages so enabling horses to safely stay in there home field.
Soil sampling can be carried out and remedial action taken ie: lime application using a dust free product that doesn't require the horses to be removed elsewhere. Blends of fertilizer can be applied to rectify problems without causing excessive grass growth.
Having put our energy into creating an acceptable sward in the grass paddock a stage is often arrived at where grass runs to seed and requires topping. This operation can be carried out by Greensward using a small tractor mounted topper. If the customer requires the grass can be collected and removed from field to tip elsewhere.
Field Drainage
A problem that is often found in grass paddocks is poor drainage. Greensward is often required to repair/replace drains and introduce new drainage systems into paddocks. Using appropriate light foot machinery new drainage systems are being put in with minimal disruption. Results are usually dramatic with the well drained paddock becoming more productive and usable.
